A flock of carp streamers has appeared around Benteniwa on the Nou coast in Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture, and is pleasing to the eyes of passers-by.

The carp streamer was installed about 200 meters from Benteniwa in the Nou area to Route 8. Local tourists decorated 58 animals that were donated by local residents when they were no longer in use.

Carp streamers are decorated every year at this time of year, but officials say this year they paid tribute to medical professionals during the corona storm.

Benteniwa carp streamers can be seen until mid-next month.
