One of the most important events to introduce the winter charm of Joetsu City, the snowy country, is the Corridor of Lights.
This year it will be held on Saturday, February 22nd.
This event is held jointly in February every year by six districts, including Yasuzuka-ward and Oshima-ward.
The snow scene is illuminated with 100,000 candles along the roadside.
The total length of the light is said to be 60 km, and many people visit every year from inside and outside the prefecture.
If you visit the venue, you will be overwhelmed by the number of snow lanterns and the beauty of the lights.
Each venue also sells hot local gourmet food, to warm your body and mind.
You can have a pleasant time together with your family or with your partner.
However, please be careful as the streets are crowded in popular places such as this every year!
