Enjoy summer’s perfect wine! Joetsu Wine Festival” will be held on Saturday, July 6 (Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture)

This year, the event will be held twice, in summer and fall! Advance tickets are now on sale!

Joetsu Wine Fest 2024, an event where visitors can sample wines carefully selected by restaurants and liquor stores in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, will be held at Takada Machikado Koryukan on Saturday, July 6. Advance tickets are currently available at participating liquor stores and restaurants.

The Joetsu Wine Festival was planned by the Joetsu Wine Festival Executive Committee to promote casual enjoyment of wine and to expand the circle of exchange between liquor stores and consumers. Last year, the festival was held in November for the first time in three years and attracted a large crowd. This year, the festival is scheduled to be held twice, once in the summer and once in the fall.

Last year’s wine festival

This year, two restaurants and three liquor stores in Joetsu City will participate in the event, offering tastings of about 50 wines carefully selected by each restaurant. Admission is free, but tickets are required for the tasting. Advance tickets sold at each participating restaurant are 3000 yen, which includes 30 100-yen tickets that can be used at the wine festival and the loan of one glass. On the day of the event, the same price is 3300 yen.

Prices for tastings vary depending on the wine, and this time they range from 200 yen to 1,500 yen per glass. Since the event will be held in the summer, we have a large selection of products that are perfect for summer, including affordable wines that taste great chilled.

Last year’s wine festival

In addition, there will be two special times, one at 1:00 p.m. and one at 3:00 p.m., with one bottle of featured wine from each restaurant, limited to the first 13 glasses per bottle, for a special time to enjoy these precious wines.

There will also be food and beverage booths and kitchen cars selling food and snacks that go well with wine at the event. Eight restaurants from inside and outside the region will be participating, offering hamburgers, Italian food, galettes, cured ham, and more.
