Myoko’s Big Winter Event “Dynamite Carnival” to be held on Saturday, January 20 (Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture)

Dynamite Carnival, a major winter event in the Suginosawa district of Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture, will be held on Saturday, January 20 at a special venue in the first parking lot of Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort.

The Dynamite Carnival is an annual winter event organized by the Suginosawa Tourist Association of Myoko City to allow tourists to enjoy Dondoyaki, a small New Year’s event held in the Suginosawa area of Myoko City.

At the venue, a stamp rally will start at 11:00 a.m. to take visitors around the slopes, and a food stall village full of local specialties will open at 11:30 a.m. The stall village will feature Suginosawa’s famous “Kanzuri Ramen” and “Umasugi Yaki” with salted squid instead of octopus.

In the evening, a raffle with gorgeous prizes and the Dondoyaki, a small New Year’s event, will begin, and the finale will be a fireworks display over the slopes to light up the winter night sky.

On the day of the event, a free shuttle bus will be available between Akakura Onsen and the venue from 5 p.m.

The temperature usually drops to minus 15 degrees Celsius at night during this time of year, so please come dressed warmly to the venue. Please come to the venue to experience the fun, deliciousness, and beauty that can only be found in Myoko in the middle of winter.
