1.Features of the slopes and courses

Just an 8-minute drive from the Joshinetsu Expressway’s Myoko Kogen Interchange. Located at the foot of Mt. Myoko, this ski resort is marked by the distinctive red roofs of the Akakura Kanko Hotel within the slopes.

The slopes are located at an altitude of around 1,500 meters and feature a total of 10 courses catering to all skill levels from beginners to advanced skiers (40% beginner, 30% intermediate, 30% advanced).

The gondolas on the Myoko Kogen Sky Cable were just renewed last season, making them more spacious and easier to board and disembark than before. Developed jointly with an Austrian manufacturer, these red egg-shaped 6-person gondolas feature a sophisticated design and offer a quiet, comfortable ride.

By transferring between the Sky Cable and lifts, you can enjoy long runs of up to 4.5 kilometers. It is also connected to the adjacent Akakura Onsen Ski Resort, and purchasing a joint pass for both resorts allows you to travel between them.

The most popular course is Hotel B Course, which offers a moderate slope and noticeable variations in terrain.

For advanced skiers, we recommend the Champion B Course, offering views stretching from Lake Nojiri to the Sea of Japan. This is a full-fledged long course where official competitions are held. Additionally, we feature two non-groomed courses.

For beginners and families, the Hotel Beginner Course along the parking lot is perfect. It’s a course where everyone from adults to children can enjoy themselves to the fullest.

For children before their first time on the slopes, we recommend the safe “Little Kids’ Area,” surrounded by nets. Here, they can enjoy activities like building snowmen and sledding.

On New Year’s Day, we will operate our traditional New Year’s Sunrise Gondola (Myoko Kogen Sky Cable) starting at 6:30 AM to coincide with sunrise. Why not enjoy your first ski run of the year and then watch the sunrise?

2.Ski Resort Dining

Within the ski resort, at the base of the Sky Cable, you’ll find “Bakery&Table Akakura,” offering lunch service and selling hotel-made bread and sweets. Near the boarding area for Hotel Triple 5, “The Kitchen” serves up curry, noodles, and other quick meals. Near the Sky Cable summit station, you’ll find the cafe restaurant “Sky Terrace.”

Myoko Mountain Katsu Curry ¥2,500 (tax included)

The recommended dish at “The Kitchen” is the “Myōkō Mountain Katsu Curry,” featuring rice inspired by Mount Myoko topped with a hearty curry and a thick cutlet.
