The 25th Myoko Summer Ski Jumping Competition, featuring Japan’s top jumpers and local athletes, will be held on Sunday, September 7, at Myoko Kogen Akakura Schanze in Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture.

The Myoko Summer Jump Competition is held every year at this time. Local companies such as Mitaka are sponsoring the event, and HIKAKIN, a YouTuber from Myoko City who has competed in the event himself, is also sponsoring the competition as an individual sponsor.

The tournament will feature legendary athlete Noriaki Kasai, who holds records such as the most Olympic appearances (8) and the oldest winner of the World Cup, as well as Shota Kobayashi, who won the men’s division last time, Yuki Ito, who won the women’s division, and other top athletes active on the world stage, such as Yuki Sato and Keiichi Sato.

In addition, nearly 100 athletes are scheduled to participate, including local athletes such as Kentaro Yamazaki and Reo Yamakawa, as well as students from Myoko Kogen Junior High School.

The venue will feature food trucks and sales booths, mainly from local restaurants, where visitors can enjoy gourmet food.

Parking around the venue is limited. A free shuttle bus will run from the Akakura Information Center to the venue starting at 6:30 a.m., so please use that.

In addition, in order to promote the four-week ski jumping competition to as many people as possible, a stamp rally will be held for the first time this year in collaboration with four summer jumping competitions. If you watch the competitions held in Yamagata City, Minamiuonuma City, Myoko City, and Hakuba Village and collect two or more stamps, you will be entered into a lottery to win luxurious prizes such as goods provided by active athletes.
