In conjunction with the 99th Takada Joshi Park Cherry Blossom Viewing Party, which will be held from March 29 (Fri.) in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, an experience plan will be available for visitors to wear kimono and stroll around the venue of the cherry blossom viewing party and the town of Takada.
Applications are now being accepted on the special “Traveling Joetsu” page.

The Joetsu Tourism and Convention Association planned the experience plan in conjunction with the cherry blossom viewing party.

In order to make sightseeing in Joetsu City more enjoyable than ever for tourists visiting Cherry Blossom Viewing Party from outside the region, we have prepared various experience plans in collaboration with local businesses and stores.

From the website of Traveling Joetsu

There are three special plans for the cherry blossom viewing party that include a rental kimono, dressing, and a 500 yen voucher that can be used at the product exhibition at the cherry blossom viewing party venue.
There are three plans: Plan A, which allows visitors to wear kimono and enjoy a cherry blossom viewing party and a stroll through the streets of the castle town of Takada; Plan B, which adds a tea ceremony experience to Plan A; and Plan C, which allows visitors to enjoy afternoon tea at Restaurant Ellis, located in the former Division Commissioner’s Building, designated as a cultural asset by Joetsu City, after wearing kimono and enjoying a stroll.

From the website of Traveling Joetsu

Afternoon tea served at Restaurant Ellis is a special menu created for the limited experience plan of the cherry blossom viewing party.
All plans are free after kimono dressing.
Please return your kimono by 5:00 p.m. on the day of the tour.
Please note, however, that afternoon tea hours at Restaurant Ellis are fixed from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Applications should be made through ” Traveling Joetsu” at least 2 to 3 days prior to your visit.

In addition to the special plans for cherry blossom viewing, traveling Joetsu also offers other experiences such as making original coasters and tea ceremony experience.
Please take a look at that as well.
