Located at the foot of the Sekida Mountains, which stretch along the border between Nagano and Niigata Prefectures, Togari Onsen Ski Resort is renowned for its 100% natural powder snow and spectacular sea of clouds views. It reopened after a major renovation on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
Cashless payments are now available at all facilities within the ski resort, including restaurants, hot springs, and rental shops. *Please note that cash cannot be used.
Spanning approximately 140 hectares, the vast ski area features 16 courses with diverse terrain. It boasts Japan’s longest mogul run at over 300 meters and dedicated carving courses, offering powder snow slopes enjoyable for everyone from beginners to advanced skiers.
The slopes are covered in 100% natural, premium powder snow. Since no artificial snow is used, the snow quality remains consistently natural, light, and soft to the touch.

To the left of the slopes, the newly opened “Dragon Park” is Japan’s largest freestyle park where you can freely master your skills.
Heading toward the slopes, the central “Sky Dragon Field” is the highest point of the ski resort. It features the intermediate “Cloud Line” course, renowned for its superb panoramic views, along with numerous beginner-friendly courses.
Additionally, at Earth Dragon Field, you can experience the new sensation activity “Snow Bike Ride,” where you race down snowy slopes on a fat bike. Feel the exhilaration of riding a fat bike through deep, powdery snow. It’s easy for beginners to enjoy and is popular with children and families.
Additionally, the hot spring “Akatsuki no Yu,” conveniently located just a one-minute walk from the slopes, has reopened this season after renovations. Enjoy a luxurious experience in its mildly alkaline beauty-enhancing waters and spacious open-air baths.

3.Ski Resort Dining
Yakiniku Dragon produced by Jambo, a new restaurant produced by the renowned Tokyo yakiniku spot Yakiniku Jambo—known for its notoriously hard-to-get reservations—has opened. Lunch features locally co-created menus using Iiyama City-produced Wagyu beef and local vegetables. Dinner offers dishes like “Nohara-yaki” grilled beef and Wagyu nigiri.
Additionally, the renowned Tokyo Harajuku establishment “Chinese Noodles Tsukemen Hajime” has also opened for business. It prides itself on its rich dipping sauces, featuring slow-simmered soy sauce and salt ramen, and generously incorporating chicken, black pork, and seafood.
