1.Features of the slopes and courses

This ski resort is located just a 2-minute drive from Matsunoyama Onsen, one of Japan’s three great medicinal hot springs, in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture.

Five diverse courses offer plenty of variety, appealing to everyone from families to advanced players (50% advanced, 30% intermediate, 20% beginner).

From the Matsunoyama Onsen Ski Resort Official Website

Among them, the Champion Course—a non-groomed slope with a maximum incline of 28 degrees—is extremely popular with advanced skiers.

Not only skiing and snowboarding, but it’s also known for offering a wide range of snow activities you can enjoy even in boots.

Airboards, where you lie face-down on an inflatable board, snow bikes that anyone can enjoy immediately if they can ride a bicycle, and guided experience schools to fully enjoy the snowy mountains are all available. And when your snow play is done, you can refresh yourself at the nearby Matsunoyama Hot Springs.

Snow Camping Scene

Matsunoyama Onsen Snow Park, home to a ski resort, has recently gained attention as one of the few campgrounds in Niigata Prefecture where camping is possible during this season.

Snow Camping Scene

On fluffy snow, a bonfire, a star-filled sky, and crisp winter air… Enjoy the ultimate snow camping experience.

3.Ski Resort Dining

At the Rest House Yukitsubaki inside the ski area, you can enjoy classic ski resort fare like curry rice, ramen, and beef bowl. Among these, the “Meat Miso Noodles” come highly recommended.
