1.Features of the slopes and courses
Cupid Valley is located in Yasuzuka Ward, Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, approximately 45 minutes from the Joetsu IC and Kakizaki IC on the Hokuriku Expressway. This ski resort is developed on the slopes of Mt. Hishigatake, standing at an elevation of 1,129 meters. Surrounded by beautiful trees, you can enjoy skiing with a view of the Sea of Japan on clear days.
Cupid Valley features a total of 12 groomed courses. Its diverse terrain includes beginner and intermediate slopes, unpacked areas for advanced skiers, beginner courses suitable for children just starting out, and the Smile Kids Park.
From the Cupid Valley Official Website
The courses utilize the natural terrain, featuring a diverse layout of banks and waves. All courses are well-maintained, ensuring a safe skiing experience.
The second quad lift, which had been closed for replacement, has reopened this season after renovation, increasing the number of ski runs from 7 to 12. The lower to mid-mountain area primarily features beginner and intermediate courses, while the upper section, accessible via the new lift, focuses on advanced terrain such as ungroomed slopes and tree runs.
For children who want to enjoy playing in the snow, we recommend the dedicated “Smile Kids Park.” Inside the area, there’s a belt conveyor-like device called a “snow escalator” that you can ride to the top. Snow toys, sleds, and tubes are also provided, so you can come empty-handed and still have fun.
Additionally, we are running a campaign where 18-year-olds receive a free one-day lift ticket, and those aged 19 to 22 get either a free or half-price one-day lift ticket. For details, please visit our official website.
