The “Earthquake Recovery Gozu Coast Fireworks Festival” will be held again this year on Sunday, August 31, at the Naoetsu Beach in Gozu Coast, Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture.
This fireworks display was held for the first time last year to pray for the recovery of Naoetsu Beach in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, which was damaged by the tsunami caused by the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1 last year. The fireworks display was planned to bring joy to the local people at the sea in Naoetsu, and last year, about 3,000 spectators enjoyed the fireworks. Due to the many requests from local people to continue the event every year, it will be held again this year.
The fireworks display will take place on the beach near the auto campground. You can view the fireworks from nearby beach houses and parking lots. Please note that there is a restricted area near the display site, and traffic restrictions will be in place on nearby roads from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
As in previous years, there will be approximately 150 fireworks, including No. 3, No. 4, and star mines. On the day of the event, beach houses will be open for business, and around 20 food trucks will be parked in the parking lot from around 2:00 p.m.
Executive Committee Naoji Kuwahara
“Kitchen cars will gather at the Hamachaya parking lot in the afternoon. Please come and enjoy the venue at your leisure in the afternoon, gaze at the sea, enjoy food and drink, and watch the fireworks at night.”
