1.Features of the slopes and courses

Itoigawa Seaside Valley Ski Resort, with Mount Komagatake, Mount Kimensan, and Mount Amakazari stretching ahead, and the Hakuba Range of the Chubu Sangaku National Park spreading out behind. On clear days, you can see all the way to the Sea of Japan, Sado Island, and the Noto Peninsula.

The resort primarily features long intermediate-level courses, but also offers trails suitable for pole training like alpine skiing, as well as cross-country trails (30% beginner, 50% intermediate, 20% advanced).

Course Map / From the Itoigawa Seaside Valley Official Website

The most popular course is the intermediate-level “Second Slope: Myojo Ridge Course,” renowned for its scenic views while skiing along the ridge.

For beginners, we recommend the “Third Slope: Forest Course.” This relatively gentle forest course offers beautiful scenery unique to this season, created by cedar and beech trees.

For advanced skiers, we recommend the “6th Slope.” This challenging single-run long course offers a maximum 3,000-meter descent from the summit all the way down to the 1st Slope. Enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Amakazari and Mt. Yakeyama right before your eyes.

The ski area also features a children’s play area called “Little Kids’ Slope.” Located next to the First Slope, it’s perfect for sledding and tubing. After skiing, why not warm up your chilled body at the adjacent “Shio no Michi Onsen White Cliff”? Its exceptionally smooth spring water is highly praised for leaving skin silky smooth, earning it the affectionate nickname “Beauty Hot Spring.”

3.Ski Resort Dining

Our top recommendation is the staff favorite “Salt Road Tanmen” for ¥1,100 (tax included). Supervised by Itoigawa’s authentic Chinese restaurant “Gettoku Restaurant”. The rich broth pairs perfectly with the thick sauce, packed with vegetables for a healthy ramen.Available exclusively at the Porters’ Tea House next to the First Lift boarding area.

Also, at the restaurant “Libra” next to the second lift, the hearty “Pork Cutlet Curry” is popular. If you’re craving a rice dish, this pork cutlet curry is worth checking out.
