The mystery of the deep sea! Giant deep-sea creatures up close<\/h2>\r\n

Frozen specimens of the giant squid will be exhibited at the Umigatari Municipal Aquarium Museum in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, for two days this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 20th and 21st (Sun).<\/p>\r\n

The giant squid on display is a slightly small individual with a total length of about 3 meters and 20 centimeters and a wet weight of about 47 kilograms.On March 16th, a neighboring resident discovered that he was floating near the Himekawa fishing port in Itoigawa City, and Umigatari was contacted.This is the first time that the giant squid has been exhibited in Umigatari.<\/p>\r\n

The “Giant squid” is a huge squid that can reach up to 19 meters.It is a marine organism known as one of the largest invertebrates in the world.The ecology is often unclear, and it is a mysterious creature.<\/p>\r\n

According to a recently published paper, both the heavy snowfall on the Sea of Japan side and the giant squid drifting along the coast of the Sea of Japan are reported to be caused by the Tsushima Current flowing into the Sea of Japan.<\/p>\r\n

Ms. Murakami, a spokeswoman for Umigatari, said, “Speaking of the regularity of the treatise, this year’s Joetsu city was hit by heavy snow, so many giant squids may be washed ashore in the future.”<\/p>\r\n

The giant squid will be on display for two days only, frozen in the outdoor touching pool.<\/p>\r\n
