The date of the big event “Tomoshibi no Kairou<\/strong>“, which is held every winter in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, has been decided on Saturday, February 27, 2021.<\/p>\r\n

State of the annual \u201cTomoshibi no Kairou\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n

“Tomoshibi no Kairou” is an event jointly held by six regions in Joetsu City.All the residents will light more than 100,000 candles on the snow wall along the road.In addition, snow sculptures are made and warm local gourmet food is sold at each venue.In the average year, the candles are lit for a total length of about 60 km, and you can enjoy the beautiful world and warmth unique to a snowy country.<\/p>\r\n

Since it was a light snow last year, we held the event on a smaller scale, but this year’s Joetsu area had an unprecedented heavy snowfall.Therefore, there are plenty of snow that is indispensable for making snow sculptures, such as snow walls and snow lanterns where candles are installed.<\/p>\r\n

Six districts, Uragawara Ward, Oshima Ward, Yasuzuka Ward, Maki Ward, Takashi District, and Nadachi Ward, Joetsu City, are scheduled to participate in this year’s “Tomoshibi no kairou”.However, due to the corona disaster, it is still undecided whether it will be the same scale as usual, and the contents of the event at each venue are currently under consideration.\u3000* The decision on whether to hold the event and the content of the event will be finalized on Thursday, February 25th.<\/p>\r\n

At the winter event “Tomoshibi no kairou” unique to the snowy country, you can enjoy the beauty of snow lanterns and local gourmet food with your family.It is also good to grow love as a couple in a romantic atmosphere.However, please note that the roads are crowded in popular places every year.<\/p>\r\n
