It takes about 30 minutes from the Itoigawa IC of the Hokuriku Expressway to Kuru. The campground is located next to the Jade Gorge Fishing Park, and nearby tourist attractions such as Jade Gorge and Takanami Pond. The campground will be open this season from Sunday, May 11, 2025 to Monday, November 3, 2025 (national holiday).<\/p>\r\n

The view of the 1,188-meter-high Mt. Myoujou approaching close at hand is a powerful one. The rock wall is famous as one of the best rock climbing slopes in Japan. Many visitors use it as a base for climbing Mt.<\/p>\r\n

There are 15 tent sites and one cooking area and toilet. At the fishing park next door, you can enjoy mountain stream fishing for char and rainbow trout. You can enjoy the river and the mountains at the same time, and enjoy the stars at night.<\/p>\r\n

Jade Gorge Fishing Park<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Jade Gorge Fishing Park is a 15-minute drive from the campground. Even beginners can enjoy mountain stream fishing in a man-made stream fed by the river. The fish you catch can be grilled on the spot (for a fee). Please stop by.<\/p>\r\n

Kotaki River Jade Gorge<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Near the Jade Gorge Fishing Park is the Kotakigawa Jade Gorge. This place, which symbolizes Itoigawa, the home of jade, was designated as a national natural treasure in 1956 as the Kotaki River hard jade production area. Although not all rocks containing jade can be collected in this area, the magnificent river flow and huge jade gemstones can be seen.<\/p>\r\n
