Railroad fans can\u2019t miss it!\u00a0 The one and only chance to visit this year!<\/h2>\r\n

A perfect place to visit this autumn! \u00a0Do you know that there is a \u201cKubikino Rail Park\u201d in Kubikiku, Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture?<\/p>\r\n

Kubikino Rail Park is a facility where a civic group manages the trains and rolling stock of the former Kubiki Railroad.\u00a0 It is usually open to the public on a regular basis. \u00a0But for this year, due to the influence of COVID-19, the first and only event will be held on Saturday, October 10th.<\/p>\r\n

\"R\uff12\u30fc\uff11\uff10\u6708\u516c\u958b\u30dd\u30b9\u30bf\u30fc<\/a>The\u00a0Kubiki Railroad was a 15km railway line that connected the current JR Shin-etsu Line \u201cKuroi Station\u201d to a former station (which was in the vicinity of the current Hokuetsu Express Hokuhoku Line \u201cUragawara Station). \u00a0It was active in the transportation of passengers and rice from the early 19th century, but it was abolished in 1971 due to a decrease in transport volumes.<\/p>\r\n

Following the closure, the civic group “Kubikino Otakara Nokosukai ” has exhibited trains and materials used at that time around the site of ” Hyakkenmachi Station”.\u00a0 On the site, there is still the former head office building of Kubiki Railroad, and some engine sheds. \u00a0This event is usually open to the public several times a year.<\/p>\r\n

It is a popular event for people of all ages because you can experience riding in a train with a retro atmosphere.<\/p>\r\n

On\u00a0the day of the event, you will be able to experience the restored \u201cDC92\u201d and \u201cHoji 3\u201d locomotives. Due to COVID-19, the number of passengers will be limited to 20 people at a time.<\/p>\r\n

In\u00a0addition, there will be a photo session of the former Kubiki Railroad trains, such as the second steam locomotive train \u201cKoppel\u201d. There will also be a ride experience on the miniature locomotive \u201cKerocco\u201d, and a diorama model driving event organized by Itoigawa GeoPal. \u00a0In addition, children who come to the event will be presented with a coloring book of the Kubiki Railroad train.<\/p>\r\n
