<\/a>\r\nThis event started 13 years ago to illuminate the snowy landscape of a mountain village and encourage people to visit.<\/p>\r\n
About 100,000 candles and snow lanterns will light up seven areas this year.<\/p>\r\n Since it takes time to visit all the areas, the event will be divided into two days, as it was last year. The first day will be held on Saturday, March 15, and will cover six sites in the Maki and Sanwa areas, and the second day will be a week later on Saturday, March 22, and will cover 15 sites in the five areas of Yasuzuka, Oshima, Uragawahara, Takashi, and Nadachi.<\/p>\r\n Food and drinks such as hot soba noodles, pork miso soup, and hot wine will be sold at some of the venues.<\/p>\r\n Of these, at Mushikawa Osugi Station in Urakawara Ward, a teahouse that was suspended due to the Corona disaster has been restored for the first time in five years, and visitors can taste udon noodles.<\/p>\r\n Fireworks will also be displayed in Maki, Takashi, and Yasuzuka.<\/p>\r\n A person in charge of the Joetsu City Tourism Promotion Division said, \u201cEach district has its own unique ideas.
