Myoko Sunshine Land” in Nakago Ward, Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, will hold the “Myoko Tenku Zakura” event on April 5 (Fri.), an event where visitors can enjoy sakura from the sky on a Ferris wheel before the opening of the amusement park.<\/p>\r\n

The area around Matsugamine in Nakago Ward, Joetsu City, where Myoko Sunshine Resort is located, is a popular spot for flower-viewing and sightseeing, with about 1,500 Someiyoshino cherry trees in bloom in spring.<\/p>\r\n

For the past five years, Myoko Sunshine Land has been holding the Myoko Tenku Zakura (Cherry Blossoms in the Sky) event, a project in which visitors can view the site’s cherry blossoms from above on the symbolic Giant Ferris Wheel.<\/p>\r\n

During the event, visitors can enjoy food and beverage booths with drinks and food, a spot to take a rest while viewing cherry blossoms in a transparent dome tent, a BBQ corner, the “Air Jumper” attraction for safe aerial strolls, and bicycle rentals (each with a fee) on the grounds.<\/p>\r\n

In addition, the Joetsu Area Cherry Blossom Photo Gallery Exhibition will also be held.<\/p>\r\n

The fee is 500 yen per person including a Ferris wheel ticket.<\/p>\r\n

Hours of operation are from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\r\n

From Friday to Sunday, the festival will be extended until 8:00 p.m., which means that visitors can enjoy the illuminated sakura.<\/p>\r\n

According to Myoko Sunshine Resort, the surrounding sakura are still in bud, but they hope to be in full bloom during the event.<\/p>\r\n

*Myoko Sunshine Land attractions are currently closed for the winter, but will pre-open on Saturday, April 13, and some attractions will be available for use.<\/p>\r\n
