In conjunction with the Takada Joshi Park Cherry Blossom Viewing Party in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, a craft event “Joetsu Craft Caravan” will be held at Otemachi Park next to the Takada Post Office on the weekend during the festival.<\/p>\r\n

This event was organized by Emiko Kimura, a craft artist in the Joetsu area.Ms. Kimura had long wanted to hold a manufacturing workshop at the cherry blossom viewing event, hoping that visitors would enjoy a wider range of activities rather than just eating and drinking.<\/p>\r\n

It has been difficult to find a venue for the event, but now that a venue has been secured, craftspeople active in the Joetsu area have come together to hold the event for the first time this year.<\/p>\r\n

On the day of the event, this sign at the entrance of the venue will be a landmark.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

The event will be held on March 30 (Sat.), 31 (Sun.), and April 6 (Sat.), 7 (Sun.) during the cherry blossom viewing event at Otemachi Park, the plaza next to the Takata Post Office.<\/p>\r\n

Various artists will open stalls by day, selling crafts such as woodworking, bamboo lighting, wire art, and mizuhiki, and workshops such as wind chime painting will also be held.<\/p>\r\n

Otemachi Park, next to the Takada Post Office, is located on the way to the Takada Joshi Park Cherry Blossom Viewing Party venue after getting off at Takada Station and walking along Honcho Street.<\/p>\r\n
