January 21 (Tuesday) is the birth day of the warlord \u201cUesugi Kenshin\u201d. In conjunction with this, on Tuesday, January 21, special \u201ccastle seals\u201d for Kasuga-yama Castle and Takada Castle will be on sale at the Joetsu City Archaeological Center and the Joetsu City Museum of History in Niigata Prefecture.<\/p>\r\n

Lord Uesugi Kenshin was born as the youngest son of Nagao Tamekage, the Echigo governor. This year marks his 495th birthday.<\/p>\r\n

The special edition sold this time differs from the usual one in that the name of the castle is in gold letters. It also features a stamp commemorating the 495th anniversary of his birth and a stamp featuring the image of Bishamonten, a goddess to whom Lord Kenshin was deeply devoted.<\/p>\r\n
