footbath<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n It opened in 1995 and reopened in its current form 21 years ago.The facility is so popular among the locals that some people go there every day.<\/p>\r\n This hot spring is neither heated nor circulated, and is a sodium hydrogencarbonate\/chlorides spring (slightly alkaline, hypotonic high hot spring).It is said to wash away fat and secretions from the surface of the skin, making it a beautiful skin care bath.<\/p>\r\n open air bath<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n The large bathhouse has an indoor bath and large and small outdoor baths.<\/p>\r\n hinoki cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n The indoor baths include a cobblestone bath and a hinoki (Japanese cypress) bath, with men and women changing on a weekly basis.<\/p>\r\n bathtub heated from below<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n The boulder baths are made of professionally selected boulders from the Shinano River that runs through Tokamachi City, and the hinoki baths have the hems of the tubs made of Japanese cypress.<\/p>\r\n This is a family bath available for private use.<\/p>\r\n Many handrails have been installed so that people with disabilities and the elderly can safely soak in the bathtub.Use of the family baths is by advance reservation only, and the fee is 1,200 yen for 90 minutes (admission fee not included).Of course, this family bath is also free-flowing hot-spring water.
